Wondering what global economic decoupling and elections mean for climate goals?
Asking how shifting policies and financing will shape the future of climate tech?
As 2030 climate targets near, we stand at a pivotal crossroads. Following a year of global elections and economic decoupling, the policy landscape is shifting, breakthrough technologies are reaching commercialization, and AI is reshaping both climate solutions and energy demand. The 2025 GSB Climate Summit will convene leaders across technology, finance, and policy to explore the key decisions and innovations that will define the future of climate action.

As one of the largest student-led events at the GSB, the seventh Climate, Business and Innovation Summit will bring together GSB students, alumni, and the wider Stanford community to explore the challenges and opportunities presented by climate change. We aim to have our participants leave with a clear perspective on the ways that climate and business are inextricably linked - regardless of career path.
-
Speakers will be accomplished sustainability leaders in various fields (finance, policy, energy, food & agriculture, retail, and technology). In addition to GSB students, faculty, and staff, the event will also welcome alumni and the larger community at Stanford and beyond.
-
Climate change will drive the largest societal and business shift in modern human civilization. We as a global community must act. We must fundamentally rebuild business habits, recalibrate personal behaviors, and upend international policy - all within the next few decades. These shifts present daunting challenges, as well as huge opportunities.
With this summit, we aim to bring all of the GSB community along for the ride and discuss how different perspectives and expertise are needed to address climate change. With a mix of education, academic debate, and career inspiration, we want every student to feel like they can be a part of the solution and leave with a toolkit for action and engagement going forward.
-
Wednesday April 16th, 2025 from 9:00 to 5:00 PM at GSB Knight Management Center (CEMEX, Classrooms, etc.).
Detailed agenda and speakers can be found here.
Climate change impacts every industry.
Over the past decades, we have watched as a changing climate has irrevocably altered our societies, disrupting food systems, displacing communities, and fueling global inequality. We, within the GSB and far beyond, have a generational opportunity to advance the momentum on climate action and build a healthier, more sustainable, more equitable future.
Join more than 300 Stanford GSB students, alumni, and industry leaders to explore how climate change is already shaping and will continue to transform the future of every business.
